12pm PT / 1pm MT / 2pm CT / 3pm ET

Presented by: Lisa White

Passive building comprises a set of design principles used to attain a quantifiable and rigorous level of energy efficiency and conservation. A few of the core principles focus on the enclosure - achieving thermal and radiation control through continuous insulation, reduced thermal bridging, and optimized solar gain. Air control is achieved through building enclosure air-tightness combined with balanced ventilation. The last core principle is minimized mechanical systems which is a result of applying passive building strategies to reduce space conditioning loads. This workshop will cover the basics of passive building, the phius passive building standard, certification, and provide a special emphasis on minimized mechanical system components for passive buildings.

This registration is for the general public, and is free.
